Dennis Anderson Trainee Travel Award for Pride CAPA
Pride CAPA will be offering a $250 travel award and year-long membership for one trainee for AACAP’s Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL for October 2025. Pride CAPA is the national organization for LGBTQ+ child and adolescent psychiatrists affiliated with AACAP. At the Annual Meeting, we hold a business meeting as well as a reception. We offer mentorship for our members and a networking community. We are also always welcoming new ideas to expand what we offer to our members.
The applicant must:
Be resident in General Psychiatry or fellow at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Not have received the award in the past
Be/become a member of Pride CAPA (free for trainees)
Submit a statement about personal interests and involvement in LGBTQ youth mental health care and advocacy
The Awardee is require attendance to both the Reception to receive the award (held on Thursday, 10/23/25 at 5:30-7:30pm) and the Business Meeting (held on Friday, 10/24/25 at 12:30-1:30pm). Awardee is also required to write submission for the newsletter. Please ensure that you will be able to attend these two events. The application due date is 9/15/25 at 11:59pm and recipients will be notified in the beginning of October.
