Dennis Anderson Trainee Travel Award for Pride CAPA

Pride CAPA will be offering a $250 travel award and year-long membership for one trainee for AACAP’s Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA for October 2026. Pride CAPA is the national organization for LGBTQ+ child and adolescent psychiatrists affiliated with AACAP. At the Annual Meeting, we hold a business meeting as well as a reception. We offer mentorship for our members and a networking community. We are also always welcoming new ideas to expand what we offer to our members.

The applicant must:

  • Be a General Psychiatry Resident or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow

  • Not have received the award in the past

  • Become a member of Pride CAPA if not already (Trainees join for Free!)

  • Submit a statement about personal interests and involvement in LGBTQ youth mental health care and advocacy

The Awardee is required to attend both the PrideCAPA Reception to receive the award (held on Thursday, 10/29/26) and the PrideCAPA Business Meeting. Awardee is also required to write submission for the newsletter. Please ensure that you will be able to attend these two events. The application due date is 9/15/26 at 11:59pm and recipients will be notified in the beginning of October.
